CHENNAI: A carpenter was allegedly stabbed by his brother-in-law on Friday evening.

Police said that the victim Krishnamurthy (42) resided at Subramani Nagar in Valasaravakkam. His brother-in-law Chinniah was also a carpenter. When Krishnamurthy enquired with Chinniah about the share due to his wife from the sale of a family property, Chinniah refused to part with the money. A wordy altercation between them snowballed into an exchange of blows and Chinniah stabbed Krishnamurthy with a sharp weapon.

Krishnamurthy was rushed to the Kilpauk Government Medical College hospital where he died of injuries.
