TIRUNELVELI: District Science Centre here has made elaborate arrangements to see the annular solar eclipse that will occur on January 15.
According to District Science Officer D. Seetha Ram, the longest annular solar eclipse of the millennium will occur from 11.08 a.m. to 3.07 p.m. at Tirunelveli. The moon disc will cover over the surface of the Sun near maximum from 1.10 p.m. to 1.20 p.m.
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for school students to watch the solar eclipse in Kanyakumari.
According to sources, telescopes have been fixed in different parts of the district to the faculty to student to see the solar eclipse.
