Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in Gajapathy Salai and Burnaby Road (Kilpauk) on Monday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work. Power supply would be resumed before 5 p.m., if the maintenance work were completed.

College tie-up with American firm

Jaya Engineering College, Thiruninravur singed a Memorandum of Understanding with M/s. American Info solutions, run by Chetty Sevgan. Mr. Sevgan said that the signing of the MOU would give students better exposure to the industry. He urged the students to take up research and development in different fields.

Awareness on 'Zero Carbon city'

An awareness programme on 'Zero Carbon city' was organised at the Birla Planetarium from Wednesday to Friday. About 50 schools participated in the event. Students of Zion Matric Higher Secondary School came first in the quiz competition. They also secured prizes in the exhibition and debate organised.

Lecture on 'Pranic Healing'

The NSS wing and Red Ribbon Club of G.S.S. Jain College organised a lecture cum demonstration on 'Pranic Healing' on Friday. Padmini Ramesh spoke on the different kinds of energy prevalent in the universe. She also spoke on the importance of cultivating positive energy.

Programme for IT employees

Corp Masters have coined a customer-friendly exercise programme for employees of corporates, call centres, BPOs and IT companies to tackle the stress and long, irregular working hours.
