MADURAI: The water level in the Periyar dam stood at 132.40 feet with an inflow of 345 cusecs and a discharge of 600 cusecs.
The level in the Vaigai dam was 67.88 feet with an inflow of 599 cusecs and a discharge of 41 cusecs.
The combined Periyar credit stood at 7712 mcft.
Rainfall registered in Madurai is 16.4 mm followed by Vaigai dam - 14, Uthamapalayam - 11, Tekkadi and Manjalar dam - 8 mm each, Veerapandi - 5.2, Gudalur - 5, Periyar dam - 4, Shanmuganadi - 3 mm and Peranai - 2.6 mm.
Two girls aged about 15 years have been reported missing from Keerathurai police station limits.
According to the police, the girls, K. Abida Begum and M. Rani, both neighbours residing on NMR Road, left home on January 2 in a moped and did not return.
While the moped was found abandoned at the Mattuthavani Integrated Bus Stand a couple of days later. Specials teams have been formed to trace them.
