Cash stolen

TIRUCHI: An unidentified man stole Rs. 1,108 from a IMFL retail outlet on Sunday night. He had gained entry by breaking the door lock. Based on a complaint from salesman Kathirvel, Jeeyapuram police are investigating.

Four arrested

A case was registered against 26 persons and four of them were arrested for attacking a conductor of a TNSTC bus and damaging the windowpanes at Thuvarankurichi on Monday night. Salam and Rafeek Raja had quarrelled with conductor Mahendran while travelling in the bus and the matter was informed to their friends through cell phone.

Following this, a group of people picketed the highway, resulting in traffic hold up for three hours.

Ganja peddler held

The city police arrested Ramalingam (38) of Beema Nagar on a charge of possessing ganja on Monday. Over one kilogram of ganja was allegedly seized from him.

Budget with CII

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) - Tiruchi Zone will organise a Union Budget viewing session at Hotel Sangam here at 10.45 a.m. on Wednesday. CII office-bearers would share their views and comments on the budget with the media, a press release said.
