NAGAPATTINAM: The Army would recruit 1,000 persons for the posts of soldiers, tradesman, clerk, storekeeper, nursing assistant, etc., at a special recruitment camp to be conducted at the sports stadium grounds in Nagapattinam from June 2 to 8, said Tenkasi S. Jawahar, Collector, on Tuesday.

After holding a meeting with Ashwin Kotnis, Superintendent of Police, Nagpattinam, which was attended by several officials including K.Somu, Assistant Director of E-Servicemen Welfare, the Collector said that the recruitment would be conducted for the candidates of Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Tiruchi, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Sivaganga, Virudunagar, Karur, Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, and Tirunelveli districts in Tamil Nadu and for the candidates from Karaikal district in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The candidates should be in the age group of 17 years and six months to 23 years and details could be obtained from the Army offices or from the Assistant Director of Ex-Servicemen Welfare in the respective districts, he said.
