For giving nod to operate direct bus service to Coimbatore

ARANTHANGI: The Aranthangi Chamber of Commerce thanked the Transport Minister, K. N. Nehru, for conceding its demand for operating a direct Arathangi-Coimbatore bus service.

Many modern rice mills, industrial units, and commercial establishments are situated in and around Aranthangi. The people running the above units proceed to Coimbatore frequently for procuring raw materials. The non-availability of direct bus service to Coimbatore affects these people, said a press release issued by L. Kailasanathan, president.

Following the demand made by the Chamber, the Transport Minister ordered the introduction of a direct bus facility from Aranthangi to Coimbatore from February 3. This was a big relief to the local people, he said and thanked Mr. Nehru.

He also thanked the Union Minister of State for Home, S. Regupathy, and the local MLA, Udayam Shanmugam, who also took initiative.
