The District Industries Centre has invited applications from educated youth for the New Entrepreneur-cum-Enterprise Development Scheme.

A release said that the scheme was launched by the State Government to assist educated youth by giving them training in conceiving a project, planning it, and launching it successfully.

On completion of the training programme, the beneficiaries would be recommended to nationalised banks or the Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation for availing themselves of loan. Those having degree, diploma, ITI/vocational training from reputed institutions, and aspiring to become entrepreneurs were eligible for the assistance.

The cost of project could be between Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 1 crore. The applicant should be above 21 years and below 35 for general category. For others it was 45 years.

Applicants should be a resident of the State for not less than three years.

There is no ceiling on annual income.
