Exclusively for women from ex-servicemen, servicemen families

 Vellore Collector has invited applications from women in the families of servicemen and ex-servicemen in Vellore district for undergoing a free 6-month training programme in tailoring which is to commence at the Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare Office here from January 2, 2013. According to a release, wives/widows of ex-servicemen and wives of servicemen who have a minimum qualification of V standard pass and aged within 45 years, and unmarried daughters and sisters of ex-servicemen and servicemen in the age group of 15-25 years and having a minimum qualification of VIII standard are eligible. The participants in the training programme would be given a daily allowance of Rs. 20 and raw materials worth Rs. 500 per month free of cost during the training period.

On completion of training, widows of ex-servicemen would be given a sewing machine each free of cost, while the women in the families of ex-servicemen would be given a grant of Rs. 1500 each for buying sewing machines.

Interested women in the families of ex-servicemen and servicemen in Vellore district have been requested to obtain the application forms from the office of the Assistant Director of Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare, Vellore, and submit it at the same office before December 10.
