The district administration has invited applications for appointing non-official members for the district-level advisory committee for sexual exploitation and immoral trafficking against women and children.
Collector K. Nanthakumar, in a release here, said that social workers with experience in women and child care projects could apply to District Probation Officer (Social Defence) N. Sivakumar, District Child Protection Office by March 15. He said that 50 per cent of the 4 to 7 members to be appointed would be women and no honorarium would be paid to them. They would be required to attend the meeting once in three months and would be paid travelling and daily allowance when they do so.
Mr. Sivakumar said that the district-level committee, established in the year 2000, was being reconstituted. The village watch dog committees would also be established in the district, he said. The village-level committees would meet every quarter and the minutes of their meetings would be placed before the district-level committee for deliberations and advice, he said.
