The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), Chennai has invited applications from eligible sportspersons for the Chief Minister’s State Sports Award for Outstanding Sports Persons, for two men and two women for the year 2012-13.

According to a release from the Member Secretary, SDAT, outstanding sportspersons who are domiciled in Tamil Nadu for the last three years preceding the Award Year 2012-13 (from April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2012) and have won medals in recognised international competitions such as World Cup, World Championships, Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, SAF Games, SAARC Games, National Games and National Championship organised by the concerned federations are eligible. In addition, those who have won the first three places in individual events and first and second places in team games during the previous three years are eligible to apply.

Consistent performance for three years would be considered. Eligible persons should submit their applications to the Member Secretary, SDAT, Chennai-600084 through the Tamil Nadu State Sports Association/District Sports Officer/Chief Educational Officer/District Educational Officer.

Applications along with guidelines for the CM’s State Sports Award for Outstanding Sports Persons can be downloaded from the SDAT website, www.sdat.tn. The cover should be superscribed, ‘Application for Chief Minister’s State Sports Award for the Outstanding Sports Persons’.

The last date for receipt of filled in application forms at the SDAT Head Office, is March 15.
