Applications have been invited for the Maulana Azad National Scholarship instituted by the Maulana Azad Education Foundation for girls belonging to minority communities.

As many as 767 students (Muslims 366, Christians 399, Sikh 1 and Buddha 1) from Tamil Nadu would be given the scholarship during the current year.

Meritorious girl students currently studying Plus-One from minority communities are eligible to apply for the scholarship.


The selected candidates would be given Rs.12,000 in two instalments.Applicants studying in recognised schools should have secured at least 55 per cent marks in SSLC and their annual family income should be below Rs.1 lakh.

Applications with relevant documents should be sent to The Secretary, Maulana Azad Education Foundation (Ministry of Minority Affairs), Chelms Ford Road, New Delhi – 110055 on or before August 31.

The list of candidates who have been sanctioned the scholarship for 2010-11 can be accessed from the foundation's website, the release added.
