SALEM: The Salem Corporation has conducted a verification camp for the candidates who have applied for the posts of noon-meal organisers and assistants in the city limits.
Over 300 women from various parts applied for the two posts in the noon-meal centres a month ago. The Corporation received the applications and short listed the eligible candidates.
A team of officials verified the certificates including community certificate, educational certificates and other relevant documents during the camp. A list of candidates who were found eligible during camp would be prepared and forwarded to the district administration.
A team of officials would process the list and select the candidates for appointment, officials said.
Corporation Commissioner K.S. Palanisamy and senior officials conducted the camp.
A number of noon-meal centres in the city limits have vacant posts.
The candidates selected during the final round of processing of the district administration would be given postings immediately, officials added.
