A 12-member delegation from the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, has appealed to the businesses in Japan to invest in Coimbatore. The delegation visited Japan recently and made presentations at the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The delegation also visited the Toyota Automobile plant. The company outsources 90 per cent of the parts.
Several Japanese companies were looking for a manufacturing base outside Japan, especially those in the small and medium-scale segment. They were invited to explore the opportunities in Coimbatore, according to R.R. Balasundharam, president of the chamber here.
