The Skills for Employment in Apparel Manufacturing training (SEAM) was given to more than 250 people in the age group of 18 to 35 years with educational qualification upto standard V in Nagercoil on Tuesday.
The main aim was to uplift the socio-economic status of the poor and ensuring their livelihood in future. They would be given a certificate recognised by the Government. Necessary steps would be taken to facilitate them get employment in reputed industries. The preliminary training was given for six weeks and training in the respective industry for four weeks, said Managing Director of Technopak (special project under SGSY) – SEAM, Raveendran.
