A rally was taken out at Palayamkottai on Thursday to create awareness among the public on the ill-effects of using tobacco.

The rally was taken out from Lourdhunathan Statue to Jawahar Ground where a ‘monster tobacco was cremated.’

In the awareness programme organised in the evening, Deputy Commissioner of Police M. Rajarajan, dentist M. Charles Prem Kumar, vice-chairman of Indian Red Cross Society’s Tamil Nadu chapter D.A. Prabakar, former district governor of Rotary district 3212 B. Arumugapandian spoke.
