COIMBATORE: More than 200 police personnel in the Coimbatore Rural Police division have undergone anti-terrorism training here for five days.

This follows an order from the State Government to form special wings for terrorism prevention across the State and provide skills to police personnel to deal with terrorist activities.

A release from Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore Rural, N. Kannan, said 22 Sub-Inspectors and 200 head constables and constables underwent training from September 11 to 15.

Inspector-General of Police Pramod Kumar and Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Coimbatore Range, B. Balanagadevi reviewed the training. Mr. Kannan handed over certificates to these personnel on completion of their training.
