Directorate of Distance Education of Annamalai University has called for applications for admissions to courses for the academic year 2013-14. According to a release from the study centre at Singanallur, students belonging to the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe communities can avail scholarships. Students pursuing regular courses in colleges can also join additional undergraduate, post-graduate, PG diploma, and diploma courses during the course of their study. Those undergoing UG / PG programmes in the distance education mode of the university can also opt for the one-year additional courses.

Differently-abled students from Tamil Nadu will be exempted tuition fee. Those who have failed standard VIII can join preparatory programmes. Those who have passed standard VIII or failed standard X can join pre-foundation programmes. Those who have failed standard X can join foundation programme and those who failed Plus-Two can join the second year foundation programme.
