At all-India inter-university fencing tournament at Patiala
For the third successive year, E. Lakshmi Prabha and A. Apsara, both students of Anna University, BIT campus, here, have won medals at the all-India inter-university fencing tournament.
In the recent edition of the tourney held at Punjabi University, Patiala, Lakshmi Prabha was part of the Anna University team that bagged bronze medal in the foil event. Apsara was a member of the Anna University team that secured bronze in the epee event.
“Both the girls have performed consistently at the all-India meet and it is an achievement,” said M. Gopinath, Deputy Director of Physical Education.
Two more students from Anna University, BIT campus, Arun Prasad and Ravichandran, represented Anna University at the meet.
“The boys, too, gave their best. We are happy that two of the four have returned with medals,” he added.
The youngsters were felicitated by N. Annavi, former international high jumper, and P. Kalaiselvan, district sports officer, on annual sports day of Anna University, BIT campus, recently.
S. Muttan, regional director, Anna University Regional Centre, Tiruchi, and R. Krishnamoorthy, Dean, BIT campus, were present.
