CHENNAI: “Trust in God and my hard work have presented me this glorious gift,” says V Jey Varshini, a student of Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, on her success in the class X examinations in Anglo-Indian stream.

Third in State

With a score of 483, she stands third in the State and first in Chennai district. Full marks in mathematics and science boosted the overall total, she says, adding that she did not have any expectations. “When I completed my exams, I was happy to have given the best. I left it to God.”

State rank, a surprise

A State rank did surprise her a bit, as she never aspired to top in the examinations.

Her parents, an engineer and a doctor, made sure she learnt her lessons with an application-oriented frame of mind.

Follow in father’s footsteps

“I want to follow my father’s footsteps and become a computer engineer. I took a special interest in few subjects and they produced amazing results. I will continue the same spirit in my higher secondary and the rest is left to god to decide.”
