Pattali Makkal Katchi president G.K. Mani and former Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss were granted bail by respective Judicial Magistrate Courts in Cudalore and Villupuram districts on Thursday. As directed by Cuddalore Judicial Magistrate – II Prabhavathi, the police produced Mr. Mani before the court on Thursday morning and after hearing the case the magistrate granted bail to him. Later, he was taken to the Tiruchi Central Prison to complete the formalities for his release.
Mr Mani was booked in a case relating to the clash that occurred between the supporters of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the PMK in Cuddalore in January last in which 17 persons, including four police personnel, were injured.
Meanwhile, Tindivanam Judicial Magistrate-II Santhosh granted conditional bail to Anbumani Ramadoss in a case relating to a purportedly inflammatory speech made by him at the Mamallapuram Chithirai Pournami youth fete and in the subsequent interaction with the media. Mr. Anbumani Ramadoss has been directed to sign daily a register at the T.Nagar police station until further order.
