Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam released the ‘Ananda Salai-Vibathilla Kovai – The World's Largest Road Safety Campaign' book in the city on Friday.

A campaign was conducted in the city from December 2 - 4, 2010 in which more than one lakh school and college students participated. The objective of the campaign was to create awareness on responsible road usage. The whole activity was documented and authored by A. Mahesh, Chief Traffic Warden, Coimbatore City. The book covers in detail the contribution of the 4,350 Road Safety Patrol students who educated 1,01,551 people, who attended the campaign. At a function organised by Lead India 2020 at the CODISSIA Hall on Friday, Mr. Kalam released the book, which was received by Antony, Principal, Suguna RIP V School.
