The Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India will hold its annual congress and workshop, AMASICON 2011, in Singapore from May 21 to 25.

A release from C. Palanivelu, GEM Hospital and Research Centre Pvt. Ltd., said that it was the first time that the conference was being held outside India. Dr. Palanivelu is the founder-president of the association. The conference was an opportunity for Indian surgeons to showcase their skill and knowledge to the international community. It would also provide an opportunity to get update in the fast-growing speciality and to get acquainted with new instruments and equipment which would be showcased at the medical expo.

Over 850 surgeons were expected to participate.
