Seeks ban on futures trading in commodities
TIRUCHI: Members of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) observed a fast near the Railway Junction in the city on Tuesday as part of their State-wide agitation seeking steps to control price rise and to press for their other demands.
They agitators also to demanded a ban on speculative futures trading in commodities and urged the State government to withdraw the rule that makes certificates from village administrative offices mandatory for membership to welfare boards.
K.Parthasarathy, State Executive Committee member, presided over the agitation. District president Balakrishnan, secretary N.Mani and others participated.
