Protesting poor basic amenities in Tambaram Municipality, members of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam staged a demonstration on Friday morning.

The protest was led by C. Rajendran, party's district secretary and South Chennai Lok Sabha Member of Parliament. They pointed out that the underground drainage project was being executed at a cost of Rs. 160 crore and this was an inflated cost, considering that similar projects were already in place at Alandur Municipality and in progress in Pallavaram Municipality at much lower costs. Mr. Rajendran said that restoration works after digging up of roads for sinking of main and distribution lines were in shambles.
