The ruling N R Congress has become “insensitive” to the plight of public as is evident from the government’s decision to not pay bonus to the employees, secretary of the local unit of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam A. Anbalagan has said.

With just three days left for Diwali, the government has not taken steps to provide bonus to a large number of government employees, including those serving various Public Sector Undertakings and Societies.

The government should at least clarify its stand, he said addressing a press conference here.

On Opposition leader Vaithilingam’s remark that Dravidian parties have done nothing for the Union Territory, he said AIADMK is not in power for the last two to three decades and being in Opposition the party performed its responsibility by taking up issues concerning the general public, within and outside the Assembly.

The AIADMK leader said the Opposition leader should remember that Congress came into power either with the support of AIADMK or DMK.

“Mr. Vaithilingam’s statements attacking the AIADMK give us a feeling that he was trying to be friendly with the ruling party and grab a ministry post. For us both N R Congress and Congress are same, with both involved in corruption,” he said.
