CHENNAI: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will stage a demonstration in Sundarapuram Sangam street in Coimbatore district on July 17 to condemn “the DMK government’s failure to complete the Kurichi, Kuniamuthur and Kinathukadavu combined drinking water scheme on time.” In a statement here, party general secretary Jayalalithaa said though the AIADMK government had cleared the project in 2004 and sanctioned Rs.49.93 crore, works were going on at snail’s pace.

Ms. Jayalalithaa alleged that people were forced to buy water because of the delay in completing the project. — Special Correspondent
