Delegation of AIADMK leaders take out rally
AIADMK candidate for Indira Nagar by-poll A. Venketeswaran alias Bhaskaran on Wednesday filed his nomination. Accompanied by Tamil Nadu Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration Agri S. S Krishnamoorthy, Minister for School Education C. Ve Shanmugham, Minister for Special Programme Implementation M. C Sampath, Member of Parliament Semmalai and party legislators in the territorial assembly, Mr Bhaskaran filed nomination before Returning Officer G. Malar Kannan at the Labour Department Office at Thattanchavady.
After conducting a special puja at Anjenayar Temple at Muthirapalayam the delegation of AIADMK leaders took out a rally to the Labour Department.
Meanwhile, Congress high command has approved the name of V. Aroumougam, who contested unsuccessfully against Chief Minister N Rangasamy from Indira Nagar, as party candidate for by-poll. Chief of Pradesh Congress Committee A. V Subramanian said the party had decided to retain Mr Aroumougam for the seat.
BSP also announced its local unit vice president K. Vaithianathan as the candidate for the poll. The ruling N R Congress was yet to announce the candidate.
