Condemn State Government for alleged tapping of telephones
THANJAVUR: A large number of cadres of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), including women, staged a demonstration in front of the MGR Statue near the Railway Junction in the town here on Monday, condemning the State Government for allegedly tapping the telephones of opposition leaders and senior government officers.
N. Balaganga, MP, led the agitation. R.Vaithialingam, former Minister and AIADMK leaders K.Thangamuthu and V. Pandarinathan took part in the agitation.
The demonstration in the town was held in front of the office of Revenue Divisional Officer in the morning. District secretary and Karur MLA Senthil Balaji led the agitation, which was inaugurated by former Minister and party organising secretary Semmalai. Former Minister A. Pappasundaram, former MLA Sasikala Ravi, and leaders of party’s front organisations participated.
Members of the AIADMK staged a demonstration in front of the Public Office here on Monday, protesting the phone-tapping. Led by former minister Nainar Nagendran, they raised slogans condemning the incident. District secretary of the party K. Vairamuthu; former Ministers A. Venkatachalam and R. Radhakrishnan; and the district secretary of MGR Mandram Chelladurai were among those who participated.
A large number of cadres including about one hundred women led by Karuppusamy, organising secretary of the party, staged a demonstration at Avuri Thidal here condemning tapping of phones of VIPs Tamil Nadu and demanding dismissal of the DMK Government. AIADMK leaders Jeevanandam, O. S. Manian, former MP, and others participated in the agitation.
Hundreds of cadres of AIADMK including about 100 women led by P. Rasaiyan, State joint secretary of Anna Trade Union, staged a demonstration in front of the Revenue Divisional Office here, condemning the phone tapping of VIPs in the State. Several AIADMK leaders including R.Kamaraj, participated in the demonstration.
The agitation in Perambalur town held in front of the taluk office was led by the former Deputy Speaker of the Assembly A. Arunachalam. Rajya Sabha Member A. Iavarasan, district secretary Annadurai, and MLAs Chandrakasi and Rajendran participated.
