Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will organise an open session cum awareness campaign at its study centre at Bishop Heber College here on December 9.

A press release of Dr. S. Manoharan, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre, Madurai, issued here on Wednesday invited prospective learners to take part in the session to learn about the different programmes of the university.

Prospectus-cum-application would be supplied at the venue.

Admission for January 2014 session is in progress, the release said. IGNOU, coming under the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, offered 156 programmes through open and distance learning mode throughout the country with a network of 67 Regional Centres and 3,000 study centres.
