The Bharathiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has urged the district administration to protect the interests of the pavement traders who put up stalls on the roadside during the festival season in Karur district.

The District Executive Committee of the BMS that met here on Monday passed a resolution calling upon the State government to sanction assistance to workers on the unorganised sectors. The committee has also urged the authorities to repair the roads damaged due to the recent rains in Karur district.

BMS district president Durai Ravi presided over the meeting. District treasurer A.V.Panneerselvam, construction wing president S.Anandraj and district secretary M.Soundararajan were among those who participated in the deliberations.
