ERODE: The Labour Welfare Department has registered cases against 19 notebook stall owners under the Weights and Measures Act.

According to the Labour Inspector, C. Thangavel, a surprise raid was conducted recently in 67 notebooks stalls in Erode, Perundurai, Kangeyam, Dharapuram, Gobichettipalayam and Sathyamangalam. The officials noticed that books were sold without enough pages in 19 stalls.

Mr. Thangavel asked the public to verify pages before buying notebooks and if any shop keeper was found selling them with reduced pages, they may inform the officials over phone: 0424 2260099.
