The Tirupur Judicial Magistrate V court has announced that Jafarullah, son of Khader Basha, first accused in a case of circulating counterfeit currency in 2008, is a proclaimed offender.

A release from the Counterfeit Currency Wing of the CB-CID said that Jafarullah, who appeared for trial on October 24, 2008, was absconding from November 12.

On November 26, 2008, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. Two persons who executed sureties for the bail of the accused, Krishnan and Nallapandi, were summoned and fined a sum of Rs. 3,000 each. They had remitted the fine.

With efforts to trace the accused proving to be in vain, the CB-CID filed a petition seeking to declare Jafarullah a proclaimed offender under section 82 of the CPC.
