CHENNAI: Authorities distributed about 1.27 lakh tonnes of urea against the requirement of 1,16,750 tonnes; 50,620 tonnes of Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) (requirement: 85,915 tonnes); 46,670 tonnes of Potash (51,459 tonnes); and 28,330 tonnes of complex fertilizers (39,500 tonnes) in October, Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam told the Assembly on Tuesday.

Wrapping up a debate on a special call attention notice on the issue of shortage of fertilizers, the Minister gave figures of stocks of the fertilizers that lay with the authorities.
