CHENNAI: The organisers promise that the event will definitely make you richer and happier. That is, if you are a college student.

`Instincts - `06', being organised on March 2, 3 and 4 by Shiv Subramania Nadar College of Engineering, Kalavakkam, near Chennai, the organisers add will bring out the best in you. Prizes worth Rs.2.5 lakh wait to be bagged during the three days of fun at the 250-acre campus.

The inter-collegiate cultural festival will seek to foster goodwill and camaraderie, the organisers say.

But, before that, here is something to interest everyone. The Automobile Engineering Department of the Madras Institute of Technology (a constituent of Anna University), Chromepet, is organising a technical symposium `Auto Meet `06' on February 22, Wednesday.

SAE India, a society of automotive engineers, is joining hands with the department for the event, which will include a vintage car rally. The cars will later be displayed at the college hangar.

Here's one for those interested in biotechnology. `Biotechcellence', a national-level technical symposium to be held from February 24 to 26 by the Centre for Biotechnology, Anna University, will see the presentation of 25 papers in fields ranging from biochemistry, environmental engineering, drug discovery and immunology to bio-informatics and animal biotech. Industry leaders and academic community leaders will deliver lectures providing insights into the latest developments in the field.

Prize money worth Rs.50,000 is up for grabs, say the organisers.
