SALEM: International Chef Day was observed at various hotels and restaurants in the city here on Monday.
A rally was taken out by the students and faculty of the Cenneys Institute of Management at Five Roads to Asthampatti in the city to make the people aware of healthy dietary habits, quality of food and the role of chefs.
The students of the institute wore uniforms and caps of chefs and carried the placards depicting the messages on food and nutrition.
The students stressed the need to consume healthy food and beverages in right calories. Awareness on food consumption would reduce various ailments, they said.
District Manager, Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing Development Corporation, R. Rajendran, flagged off the rally in which students and faculty including Hotel Cenneys Gateway’s Executive Director Dr. Rajesh; General Manager Shanmuguhanand; and the institute’s principal, K. Kathiraven, participated.
