A total of 95 candidates submit nominations in Kanyakumari district

Nagercoil: A total of 95 candidates, including independents, filed their nomination papers in Kanyakumari district on Thursday.

Among those who filed their nomination papers were the Health Minister, N. Thalavai Sundaram of the AIADMK, the former Tourism Minister of the DMK, N. Suresh Rajan, Kumara Dhas of the AIADMK, C. Velayudham, State vice-president of the BJP, the AIADMK rebel candidate, Austin, the district secretary of the MDMK, Ratina Raj, and only one woman candidate Leema Rose of the CPI (M).

The AIADMK candidate for the Padmanabhapuram Assembly constituency, K.R. Rajendra Prasad, and his dummy candidate, Arthur, filed their nomination papers before the Padmanabhapuram Revenue Divisional Officer, Shanmugavel.

An Independent candidate, Manikandan, and the candidate for Lok Jana Sakthi, Jeyaseelan, for the Nagercoil Assembly constituency filed their nomination papers.

Sivaji Rajan and Kumaraswamy, independent candidates for Kanyakumari and Colachel Assembly constituencies, filed their nomination papers.

Pon Vijayaraghavan of the National Congress (Sharad Pawar) and Velkumar of the Hindu Maha Sabha for Vilavancode Assembly constituency filed their nomination papers before District Backward Class Welfare Officer, Soundrarajan.

Moreover, the BJP candidates, Chandra Kumar, and his dummy candidate, Ravichandran, for Killiyur Assembly constituency filed his nomination papers before the Assistant Commissioner, Prakash.

Similarly, the DMDK candidate, Rich Mohandhas, and his dummy candidate, Rajendran, for Killiyur Assembly constituency filed their nomination papers.
