TIRUNELVELI: Collector G. Prakash disbursed welfare measures to 92 beneficiaries on Monday.

Educational assistance of Rs.25,000 each for four students, medical assistance of Rs.43,000 for two patients, free house site pattas for six beneficiaries, order to get monthly assistance of Rs.500 for 50 physically challenged persons, order to get monthly assistance of Rs.400 for 13 beneficiaries after relaxing the age and Rs.23,000 for four meritorious sportsmen, Rs.10,000 each for 13 beneficiaries to start business ventures were given.

After coming to know the plight of a poor family of Parappadi near Nanguneri struggling with four physically and mentally retarded children, Mr. Prakash asked the District Rehabilitation Officer, K. Manoharan, to visit the family to ascertain the fact.

Monthly assistance

The Collector handed over the order to the mother K. Chandra on Monday.

District Revenue Officer G. Srinivasan, Tirunelveli Revenue Division Officer Mariappan, District Rehabilitation Officer, K. Manoharan and Palayamkottai tahsildar Gana. Muruganandam were present.
