Nearly 40 schools come under the Chengalpattu Educational District

KANCHEEPURAM: A total of 47 schools in Kancheepuram Revenue District (comprising Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu Educational Districts) have registered 100 per cent results in Class XII examinations.

According to official sources, nearly 40 schools which have recorded 100 per cent pass, came under the Chengalpattu Educational District and the remaining, Kancheepuram Educational District. In all, 34,940 students (15,820 boys and 19,120 girls) appeared for the examinations in the Kancheepuram Revenue District and 29,131 (12,649 boys and 16,482 girls) of them have emerged victorious, taking the overall pass percentage to 83.37.

Meanwhile, the government and municipal schools in the Kancheepuram Educational District, constituting predominantly backward areas in Kancheepuram Revenue District, have outscored their counterparts in the Chengalpattu Educational District.

While the government schools in the Kancheepuram Education District registered 77.68 per cent pass, their counterparts in the Chengalpattu Educational District recorded 72.21 per cent.

Similarly, municipal schools in the Kancheepuram Education District registered 60.69 per cent results. Municipal schools in the Chengalpattu Educational District recorded 41.22 per cent pass .
