Bank will collect deposit from Wednesday
TIRUPUR: A total of 4,150 residents of Nallur Municipality, who were toiling for more than 24 hours in a serpentine queue, received applications through the online counters at State Bank of Travancore branch here on Monday.
President of the recently-upgraded municipality C. Muthu, vice-president S. Ramasamy and executive officer V. Manickam issued the first token to K. Subramanian, a resident of Serankadu, to pay the deposit on Wednesday.
Applications affixing seniority number were given through four counters of the bank. The issuance of tokens began at 7.30 a.m. and continued till 4.30 p.m.
According to Mr. Manickam, around 2,000 persons were expected to get the tokens on Tuesday. The bank would collect the deposit amount from Wednesday.
