  • Selected candidates to be paid stipend of Rs. 1,500 monthly

    BANGALORE: As the day for the Government-sponsored job fair is nearing, the Peenya Industries' Association, which is sponsoring the February 3 fair, has appealed to the unemployed youth to make best use of the opportunity.

    Educational qualification

    Association vice-president K.V. Rajendra Kumar told presspersons here on Thursday that at least 3,000 youth, selected at the fair, would be given job training and be subsequently absorbed. The fair would be held at the association premises, 1st Cross, 1st Stage, Peenya Industrial Estate.

    Unemployed youth with educational qualification of seventh standard and above, including engineering, and aged between 18 and 35 can participate in the fair. Selected candidates will be trained by association members and given a stipend of Rs. 1,500, being equally shared by the Government and the employer. The employer may even pay more stipend to the deserving candidates, he added. Annual family income of the candidates should not exceed Rs. 40,000.


    Training, ranging from three months to one year, would be offered in the fields of engineering, printing, garment and related fields. The candidates should bring certificates in original along with their attested copies. The fair would begin at 10 a.m.. For details, log on to
