VELLORE: Three women died in two different train accidents in the Thiruvallur railway station in the last two days.

According to the Arakkonam Railway Police, an unidentified woman was killed on the spot when she fell down from a running Chennai-Bangalore Lalbagh Express at the Thiruvallur railway station on Thursday evening. In the other accident, which occurred in the same station, two fruit vendors, Jothi (30) of Bhajanai Koil Street in Banavaram and Neelavani (50) of Ramapuram village in Pallipet taluk were fatally knocked down by a speeding Electromotive Multiple Unit (EMU) train proceeding from Chennai to Arakkonam when they were crossing the railway track on Wednesday night.
