Three Additional Judges of the Madras High Court were on Thursday sworn in Permanent Judges.

Justices R. Mala, Aruna Jagadeesan and G.M. Akbar Ali were sworn in Permanent Judges by Chief Justice M.Y. Eqbal.

Strength now 60

With the inclusion of the three, the number of Permanent Judges in the High Court has increased to 42.

At present, the High Court has 50 Judges, against the sanctioned strength of 60.
