CHENNAI: Two persons, including a woman, were killed and four others injured when a car hit an autorickshaw and a motorcycle on G.N. Chetty Road flyover on Wednesday evening.

Preethi Bharadwaj (26), one of the passengers in the autorickshaw and driver Kumar were killed on the spot, according to police.

Her relative, Kapil Bharadwaj (32), another passenger , suffered bleeding injuries and was admitted to a private hospital . His condition is stated to be serious.

Mr.Bharadwaj is an employee of Cognizant.

A two-year-old child, who was travelling in the autorickshaw and whose identity is yet to be established, sustained minor injuries and has been admitted to the hospital. V.Muniammal (55) and her husband G.Veerashivaji (58), who were travelling on a motorcycle, were also injured. According to police, the car jumped the yellow line and hit the autorickshaw. In the impact, the three-wheeler was damaged beyond recognition. Eyewitnesses said the car had earlier hit a two-wheeler.

Police have registered a case. The car driver fled the scene, police said.
