CHENNAI: Two more suspects wanted in connection with the robbery of Rs. 22.31 lakh from a petrol bunk employee at Nazarethpet on September 22 were arrested on Friday. Police recovered Rs. 6.71 lakh from them.

According to the Chennai Suburban Commissioner of Police, S.R. Jangid, a special team arrested Kasi of Prakasam district (Andhra Pradesh) and Chinnapparaj.

The team had already arrested Sebastian and Rajkumar in connection with the robbery and recovered Rs. 14.6 lakhfrom them.

In another breakthrough, the police solved the murder for gain case under the SRMC police station limits.

On a tip-off, investigators arrested Balaraman (26) of Cuddalore, who confessed to have murdered Karuthar Chellathurai (56) of Kamakshi Nagar in Porur along with his friend Murugan (28) on September 16. The accused had decamped with a laptop, mobile phone and a pair of gold studs. While Murugan surrendered in a Cuddalore court, the police recovered a mobile phone and gold studs from Balaraman.

The accused were remanded to judicial custody.
