NAGAPATTINAM: As many as 19,430 students (10,383 girls and 9,047 boys) are writing the SSLC public examinations that begins on Thursday.

G. Arockiasamy, Chief Educational Officer, Nagapattinam district, told The Hindu on Monday that the Matriculation public examination would begin on Tuesday. Both the SSLC and Matriculation students are writing their examinations in 58 centres in Nagapattinam revenue district comprising of Nagapattinam and Mayiladuturai educational districts.

He said that 1,261 students (622 girls and 639 boys) would be appearing for the Matriculation examination in the district. Flying squads had been formed to inspect the examination centres.
