Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Rural District Police, during joint combing operations with the Forest Department in villages abetting jungles here, arrested 15 persons on Monday.

Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore Rural District, G. Karthikeyan, said the objective was to crackdown on movement of anti-social elements and unlawful activities, to prevent the jungles from turning into safe hideouts for anti-socials.

Forest personnel, during the weekend, also arrested four persons on charges of poaching after they were found in possession of deer skin.
