CHENNAI: The Centre has been allocating 11,283 tonnes of wheat every month for distribution through the public distribution system (PDS) from September 2008. Of this, 1,450 tonnes have been set aside for cardholders in Chennai.

Ration cardholders in north and south Chennai can avail themselves of up to 10 kg of wheat, including one kg of fortified wheat flour, from their ration shops.

Complaints

If cardholders have any complaints in getting their ration, they can contact the Assistant Commissioners of North (Ph: 28551028) and South (28551026) or register their complaints on www.consumer.tn.gov.in, according to an official release.
