Thirteen persons including six women from Maharastra, who had been allegedly brought by a broker promising employment in Tirupur, were rescued by volunteers of SAVE, a Non-Governmental Organisation, when they were roaming aimlessly in the city at around 5 p.m. on Friday.

However, all of them later fled from the SAVE office.

In fact, the SAVE had arranged facilities for their accommodation at its shelter home till they were sent back to their native.

SAVE sources said that the group during an interaction told that they were brought by a broker from Nashik three days ago.

After reaching Tirupur and reportedly collecting the brokerage, the said person deserted the group. They were found in a pitiable condition without food and water for the past two days, the sources added. A search is on to trace the group.
