The police made a huge haul of ganja and arrested three persons here on Sunday evening.

Virudhunagar District Superintendent of Police S. Maheswaran got a tip-off about 100 kg of ganja being stocked in a house. A police team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police N. Stephen Jesubatham, raided the house on Railway Feeder Road around 7 p.m, seizing several bags of ganja.

The narcotics substance, suspected to have been smuggled from Andhra Pradesh, was packed in smaller packets, the police said.

While one of the arrested hailed from Sattur, the others were from Theni. They were under interrogation. The police have also seized over Rs. 30,000.

On Friday, Narcotics Control Bureau sleuths from Madurai raided a house at Keezharajakularaman and seized 37 kg of ganja and arrested three persons.
